When California individual returns show that taxpayers qualify for EITC, a diagnostic message will come up to prompt the practitioner to help inform the client of the other California programs available. The following "We Connect" diagnostic message is expected to be in the California Individual update anticipated to be available online on or about March 22, 2008.
"Important! California taxpayers who qualify for the Earned Income Tax Credit may also be eligible for additional benefits that can put money into their pockets at tax time and on a regular basis. In a joint effort with California's First Lady Maria Shriver and her We Connect Campaign, Intuit is working to raise awareness of these important resources for eligible taxpayers. For more information, you or your client can access an easy-to-use web tool at www.weconnect.net to determine if there are additional benefits for which your client may qualify."
