Iowa Department of Revenue Email on Social Security Calculation with Federal 1040A

The Iowa Department of Revenue sent an email indicating that the worksheet in the Iowa IA 1040 instructions for Line 13 had an error. The worksheet incorrectly references line 19 of the federal 1040A on line 6 of the worksheet.

Iowa has updated the online versions of the tax instructions that can be found at http://www.state.ia.us/tax/forms/1040LongBooklet07.pdf

ProSeries Iowa Individual correctly calculates line 6 of the worksheet.

Note: The screen image and Tax Help incorrectly refer to Form 1040A, Line 19.
