Your printer must at least meet these printer requirements:
Notes
- We recommend using a printer that uses PCL or HP compatible drivers. (ProSeries was designed and tested to run with Printer Control Language (PCL) or HP compatible drivers.)
- To check if you have the latest printer driver or if your printer uses PCL refer to your owner's manual, contact your printer manufacturer, or visit their website.
If Windows displays an illegal operation message while printing, select Details to display which application caused the problem. We recommend that you write down this information and then try the following:
- Run Disk Cleanup.
For Windows 2000:
- Go to the Start menu, point to Programs, then Accessories, then System Tools and select Disk Cleanup.
- On the Disk Cleanup tab, select Temporary Internet Files, Recycle Bin, and Temporary files.
- Click OK.
For Windows XP:
- Go to the Start menu, point to All Programs, then Accessories, then System Tools and select Disk Cleanup.
- On the Disk Cleanup tab, select Temporary Internet Files, Recycle Bin, and Temporary files.
- Click OK.
- Try turning spooling off or on.
For Windows 2000:
- From the Start menu, point to Settings, then click Printers.
- Highlight the icon for your printer.
- From the File menu, select Properties.
- Click the Advanced tab.
- To turn spooling off, select Print directly to the printer.
- To turn spooling on, select Spool print documents so program finishes printing faster.
- Click OK.
For Windows XP:
- From the Start menu, select Control Panel.
- Double-click Printers and Faxes.
- Highlight the icon for your printer.
- From the File menu, select Properties.
- Click the Advanced tab.
- To turn spooling off, select Print directly to the printer.
- To turn spooling on, select Spool print documents so program finishes printing faster.
- Click OK.
- Change the Spool Data Format:
For Windows 2000:
- From the Start menu, point to Settings, then click Printers.
- Highlight the icon for your printer.
- From the File menu, select Properties.
- Select the Advanced tab, then click Print Processor.
- If the Default data type is set to a variety of EMF, try changing the setting to RAW.
- Click OK, then OK.
For Windows XP:
- From the Start menu, select Control Panel.
- Double-click Printers and Faxes.
- Highlight the icon for your printer.
- From the File menu, select Properties.
- Select the Advanced tab, then click Print Processor.
- If the Default data type is set to a variety of EMF, try changing the setting to RAW.
- Click OK, then OK.
