Situation
Bank Products client has a Stopped status.
Solution
The check status can display as "Stopped" in the Bank Products HomeBase view or tab when a check has been reported as lost or stolen and the process to replace the check is not completed.
Follow the instructions below to complete the process:
-
In the taxpayer's return, open and complete the Indemnity Bond for Lost Refund Anticipation Loan Check - Not Endorsed form. This form is listed in the Forms Bar as SBBT Ind RAL.
-
Print this form. Go to the File menu and select Print. Under Print Functions select Print Selected Forms, ensure SBBT Ind RAL is selected and click Print.
-
Fax or mail this form to SBBT. The fax number is at the bottom of the form.
-
After waiting for SBBT to process the form, get the new authorization to print a new check.
-
In the Bank Products view, highlight the tax return.
-
Go to the E-File menu, point to Bank Products, and select Update Selected Acknowledgments.
Notes:
-
We recommend you contact SBBT to let them know why you are sending the indemnity bond form.
-
If you have the check and it is not actually lost or stolen, complete the process below, provide an explanation on the indemnity bond form, write "VOID" across check, and fax the check with the form. SBBT can advise you when a new check authorization will be available.
-
If the check is actually lost or stolen, contact SBBT to find out how many days it will be before a new check authorization will be available.
