Situation
When attempting to open a tax return you may receive the error message: "Fatal Error Loading Data File Error 524..." This error may occur when you imported data from financial software such as Quicken or QuickBooks to Form 8829, Expenses for Business Use of Your Home, lines 17a and 17b.
Solution
This situation will be corrected in the Federal 1040 update that we anticipate will be available online on or about January 21, 2008. Download and install this update when it becomes available. (Go to the Update menu and select Update Installed Products.)
