Situation
Taxpayer and spouse names do not print on bank product checks.
Solution
ProSeries/1040 Network Users
- Be sure you have downloaded and installed the latest 1040 update ProSeries/1040 v2007.03. (You can check the version in the 1040 ReadMe.)
- Have all users close ProSeries on all workstations.
- On the network drive, in the Common folder locate the FDI.ddf file and delete this file. (The default directory for ProSeries is ProNet07.)
- Perform the following steps on one workstation:
- Highlight the ProSeries icon on the desk top, hold down the Shift key while you press Enter. Continue to hold down the Shift key.
- When the message "ProSeries is attempting to rebuild your HomeBase files. Do you wish to continue?" appears, release the Shift key and click Yes.
- When ProSeries launches the 1040 View will be blank. Create a new 1040 return and save it.
- Close ProSeries.
- Highlight the ProSeries icon on the desk top, hold down the Shift key while you press Enter. Continue to hold down the Shift key.
- When the message "ProSeries is attempting to rebuild your HomeBase files. Do you wish to continue?" appears, release the Shift key and click Yes.
- The 1040 View should now have all the returns in it again. For each check you wish to print for a client, you will need to open and resave the return.
- Perform the following steps on all remaining workstations:
- Highlight the ProSeries icon on the desk top, hold down the Shift key while you press Enter. Continue to hold down the Shift key.
- When the message "ProSeries is attempting to rebuild your HomeBase files. Do you wish to continue?" appears, release the Shift key and click Yes.
ProSeries/1040 Standalone and ProSeries Basic/1040 Users
- Be sure you have downloaded and installed the latest 1040 update ProSeries/1040 v2007.03 or ProSeries Basic/1040 v2007.02. (You can check the version in the 1040 ReadMe.)
- For each check you wish to print for a client, you will need to open and resave the return.
