Why did I receive a notice of credit card pre-authorization e-mail?

A notice of credit card pre-authorization e-mail was sent to ProSeries customers who selected credit card as the method of payment when ordering their tax year 2008 ProSeries software. The paragraph below outlines the next steps of the payment sequence.

We will be preparing orders for shipment the week of November 20, 2008. As a result, a pre-authorization will be processed on your debit or credit card for the amount of your ProSeries order total on November 4, 2008. Please note that it may cause a temporary hold for the total amount due as required by your card issuer. If you have questions about your credit card holding period, please contact your financial institution.

All ProSeries order totals will be charged during the week of December 1, 2008.
