Situation
When attempting to e-mail a Client Checklist you receive the error message: "Unable to E-Mail Client: Firm E-Mail address is blank."
Also, a comma displays inside a box at the top of the Client Checklist. Normally the firm information displays in this area.
These situations occur when the Self-Prepared or Non-Paid Preparer box is checked on the Federal Information Worksheet.
Solution
These situations were corrected in a Federal 1040 update that became available online on January 2, 2008. Download and install the update if you have not already done so. (Go to the Update menu and select Update Installed Products.)
Workaround (prior to the update)
- On the Federal Information Worksheet, temporarily uncheck the Self-Prepared or Non-Paid Preparer box.
- E-mail the Client Checklist.
- On the Federal Information Worksheet, recheck the Self-Prepared or Non-Paid Preparer box.
