Sharing Violation Errors and Loss of ProSeries Client Files Can Occur When Running BitDefender Internet Security v10

Products Affected:

  • ProSeries/Network Version TY07 & TY06
  • ProSeries Express/Network Version TY06

Situation

When attempting to print ProSeries client returns on a computer running BitDefender Internet Security v10 the ProSeries Message Printing Log reports sharing violation errors and some or all of the returns may fail to print.

After getting these sharing violation errors, some or all of the client files in the 06Data folder or 07Data folder have vanished, but are still listed in HomeBase. You may also get sharing violation errors when saving new or existing returns.

This situation only occurs with BitDefender Internet Security v10. It does NOT occur with the following BitDefender products:

  • BitDefender AntiVirus v10
  • BitDefender Internet Security 2008
  • BitDefender Total Security 2008

Solution

Upgrade to BitDefender Internet Security 2008 or BitDefender Total Security 2008.
