How do I install ProSeries to the Admin workstation or a server?

To install ProSeries to the Admin workstation or a server, follow these instructions:

Go to the ProSeries Admin workstation, close all open applications and turn off any virus-protection utilities.
Insert the ProSeries CD into the appropriate drive. If the ProSeries Setup dialog box does not appear automatically:
1. Go to the Windows taskbar, click Start, then choose Run.
2. In the Run dialog box, type X:\CDSETUP (where X represents the letter of the drive containing the ProSeries CD) and click OK.
In the ProSeries Setup dialog box, click Install ProSeries.
In the Welcome dialog box, click Next.
In the Software License Agreement dialog box, read the ProSeries License Agreement. Click I accept the terms of the license agreement and click Next to continue with the installation. (Click I do not accept the terms of the license agreement to cancel the installation. Then contact Customer Service about returning the software.)
In the Select an Installation Type dialog box, select Network , then click Next.
In the Confirm Installation Type dialog box, select Yes. I have or will purchase a Network license; continue Network install and click Next.
Review the network installation steps and click Next.
In the Computer Name dialog box, enter a name for the Admin workstation (The default will be the computer name, or the workstation name used in ProSeries last year.) and click Next.
In the Choose Destination Location dialog box, select a local install folder and a network install folder. (We recommend using the default locations.) If you are prompted to create the specified folders, click Yes.
Complete the installation by following the on-screen instructions. This includes selecting your products, accepting or declining E-mail Alerts, and reviewing the installation details.
Complete Licensing (Connected Customer) by following the on-screen instructions.
After all the updates are installed, follow the Workstation Install Instructions to install ProSeries to all your User workstations.

Note: Turn on any virus-protection utilities after completing the installation.
