How do I install ProSeries to a network?

Products Affected:

The basic process for installing install ProSeries to a network:
  1. Select a server and a ProSeries Admin workstation. (The server and the Admin workstation can be the same computer.)
  2. Create and share a folder on the server that can be accessed by the workstations. (The shared folder does not have to be mapped to a network letter as long as all the workstations can access the shared folder.)
  3. Give other workstations access to the folder.
  4. Install the ProSeries Admin workstation.
  5. Install the other ProSeries User workstations. (The user workstations must be installed from the server.)

Notes
  • If you used mapped drives last year, you should continue to use mapped drives with the new version of ProSeries.
  • If installing Tax Year 2002 or earlier versions of ProSeries, you must use mapped drives.
