Entering the Firm Name and Address

If the firm name and address area of the Firm/Preparer Information section of the Options dialog box is blank, either product licensing is required or your product licensing information must be updated. You cannot enter your firm's name and address directly into the program.

Note: If product licensing is required or your product licensing information must be updated, the HomeBase Message Center will include the message "Product Licensing Required."

Editing the Firm Name and Address

You can make one significant change per tax season to your firm's name or address either from within the program or on our Web site by logging in to My ProSeries.

When using either the Connected Customer Wizard the first time you start the program or License Products from the Tools menu you may be prompted to verify your firm information. If you wish to edit your firm information, check the NO - This information is NOT correct and I want to edit it box, make the appropriate edits, and follow the on-screen instructions.

You can also edit your firm information from the Options dialog box:

1. From within ProSeries, go to the Tools menu and select Options.
2. In the Options dialog box, select Firm/Preparer Info.
3. Click Edit to modify the Firm Name and Address.
4. In the Edit Existing Firm Information dialog box, edit your firm's name and address and click OK.
   
5. Insignificant changes. If you've made insignificant changes to your firm's name and address (such as changing "Dr." to "Drive" in your firm's street address), your changes appear in the Firm Information area of the Firm/Preparer Information section of the Options dialog box.

   Note: Insignificant changes can be made only after ProSeries product licensing has occurred.
   

6. Significant changes. You can make only one significant change per tax season to your firm's name or address either from within the program or by logging in to My ProSeries and selecting Update Firm Information. Thereafter, if you make significant changes to your firm's name or address, a dialog box instructs you to call Customer Service at 800-374-7317 to change your firm information.

Note: Before you call Customer Service, please fax a copy of your company letterhead with the following information to Customer Service at 800-568-7963:

• Customer Number
• Contact Name
• Phone Number
• Old Firm Address and New Firm Address (When submitting an address change.)
• Old Firm Name and New Firm Name (When submitting a firm name change.)
