    Have you tried the Live Community or Online Community yet? If not, take a look around and see what other ProSeries users are saying. You can read and access any content in the communities. To ask questions or provide answers, you must register or login.

    The Live Community is a quick and easy way for you to interact with other ProSeries users. The Live Community panel is located on the right side of the ProSeries window.

    To quickly access the Online Community click Browse Online Community at the bottom of the Live Community panel within your ProSeries software.

  • TIP: Installing ProSeries Software on a New Computer
    When you purchase a new computer, you will need to install the ProSeries software on the new computer and then copy your client files from the old computer to the new computer. ProSeries does not support moving or copying the ProSeries software to a new computer. View KB Article

  • New Withholding Tables Now Available on IRS.gov; Most Workers Will See Bigger Paychecks this Spring
    On February 21, 2009, the IRS issued News Release IR-2009-13, announcing the release of new withholding tables that will result in more take-home pay this spring for millions of American workers. The new tables incorporate the new Making Work Pay credit, one of the key tax provisions included in the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 that became law earlier this week.   • IRS Issues Important Guidance on First-Time Homebuyer Credit
    The IRS has released a notice clarifying how the new first-time homebuyer credit is handled when a home is purchased by two or more people who are not married. The new notice provides unmarried taxpayers with flexibility when allocating the credit between them. View Tax Article


  • Good News on Preparer Penalties
    Recent developments now ease tax preparer penalties. A tax law enacted at the end of 2008 and follow-up guidance from the IRS have made the tax return preparer penalty rules a little less onerous for preparers as they deal with returns for the 2008 tax year. And portions are retroactive back to tax year 2007. View Tax Article

    In 2008, Texas established new formatting standards to enhance return processing. As an approved vendor, ProSeries has been working with Texas to implement the new procedures. The new formatting standards have required special programming changes and created functionality in the Texas return that is different than what is commonly associated with ProSeries programs.
