When attempting to send an e-mail in Client Checklist you receive the error message: "Either there is no default mail client or the current mail cannot fulfill the messaging request. Please run Microsoft Office Outlook and set it as the default mail client." and you are unable to send the e-mail in Client Checklist. Learn more

  • Tax Year 2007 Downloads Now Available Online
    The downloads for tax year 2007 ProSeries/1120, 1120S, 1065, and 1041 are now available online. We anticipate that the CD will begin shipping on December 27, 2007.


  • How to Download and Install Products and Updates
    If you already installed tax year 2007 ProSeries/1040, you can easily download your 2007 ProSeries business tax software from within the 2007 program. Go to the Update menu and choose Select and Download New Products. Learn more

  • Tax Year 2007 ProSeries Basic/1040 Is Now Available Online
    The download for tax year 2007 ProSeries Basic/1040 is now available online. We anticipate that the CD will begin shipping on December 28, 2007.


  • TIP: Download Next Year's ProSeries Product Feature
    If you are connected to the Internet, you can use the "Download Next Year's ProSeries Product" feature within your 2006 ProSeries Basic/1040 program to easily download and install the first tax year 2007 ProSeries Basic/1040 product. Learn more

  • Alternative Minimum Tax (AMT)
    Congress is currently considering legislation that includes a one year AMT patch (increase exemptions, allow personal credits to offset AMT) for 2007. A bill is expected to pass before year end.

    We are closely monitoring Congressional and IRS activity with respect to this proposed legislation, and will adjust and communicate the upcoming release schedules accordingly. Learn more

ProSeries 1040 Complete, PowerTax Lite, and PowerTax Library

  • New ProSeries Client Advisor and Client Presentation features will become available in late-January
    The launch of the new ProSeries Client Advisor and Client Presentation features were originally scheduled for late December. They are now scheduled to become available to download in late-January.

 Federal Electronic Filing and Bank Products Software
ProSeries and ProSeries Basic Edition
  • Electronic Filing Identification Number
    Reminder, all ProSeries users must have an Electronic Filing Identification Number (EFIN) to e-file tax returns. To receive an EFIN, you must register with the IRS by completing Form 8633, Application to Participate in the IRS e-file Program, at least 45 days before you want to start e-filing returns. If you do not have an EFIN, you can register online using e-services on the IRS Web site.

    If you already have an EFIN, your Form 8633 should include all types of tax returns you will be e-filing. You can revise your application on the IRS Web site.

Santa Barbara Bank & Trust Users

  • Santa Barbara Bank & Trust (SBBT) Registration Deadlines
    If you plan to offer bank products through Santa Barbara Bank & Trust (SBBT), please be aware of the following upcoming deadlines for submitting an Electronic Return Originator (ERO) enrollment application to SBBT:
    • January 4, 2008 - ERO's new with SBBT, but have prior bank products experience.
    • March 3, 2008 - ERO's with prior SBBT bank products experience.
    ERO's submitting an enrollment application to SBBT after the appropriate due date, will not be able to submit RALs and RTs until SBBT has completed approval of the application. Learn more

Republic Bank Users

  • Republic Bank Will Stop Accepting Applications on December 21
    If you plan to offer bank products through Republic Bank, you need to submit your Electronic Return Originator (ERO) application to Republic Bank by 11:59 p.m. (ET) on December 21, 2007, if you have not already done so. Republic Bank will stop accepting ERO applications for the 2007-2008 tax season after this date. Learn more
