CRITICAL
ALERTS!
Idaho Individual Form 40, Line 22 Incorrectly Displays "NRF" Under Certain Circumstances
Idaho Individual Form 40, line 22 incorrectly displays "NRF" under the following circumstances:
- Idaho resident has a business net operating loss (NOL) from a non-Idaho business and no Idaho loss amount, OR
- The federal amount was significantly greater than the Idaho amount and an amount large enough to offset most, if not all of the federal income and yet end up below the threshold for Idaho filing requirement because the federal NOL amount is not being added back to the Idaho gross income amount used in the calculation to determine the filing requirement.
As a workaround, on
line 22 override the incorrect amount with the correct amount
and delete NRF. Learn

and Is Not Reduced by Section 179 Deduction

31, 2008. Until this update is available, override the incorrect
amount on line 1. Learn

Combat Pay Can Count toward Economic Stimulus Payment Eligibility
On March 20, 2008, the IRS issued News Release IR-2008-48,
announcing that military personnel serving in combat zones
have the option of including their nontaxable combat pay
on their 2007 or 2008 income tax returns if it helps their
eligibility for the 2008 economic stimulus payments. To
receive the stimulus payment this year, combat zone personnel
or their spouses must file a 2007 income tax return by
October 15, 2008. Otherwise, they can claim the economic
stimulus payment on next year’s income tax return. For
more information, please visit the IRS
Web site.
