Governor Extends Connecticut Tax Filing Deadlines

April 16, 2007 - Governor M. Jodi Rell is offering a reprieve for taxpayers and preparers impacted by this week’s Nor’easter by instructing the Connecticut Department of Revenue Services (DRS) to extend the state income tax filing deadline to midnight April 19, 2007. Because of the storm that caused flooding and the power outages throughout the state, taxpayers and preparers will have an extra two days to file and pay Connecticut income taxes and estimated payments.
The filing extension applies to Connecticut tax returns and payments only. The following Connecticut tax returns and the associated extensions impacted by the extension include:
- CT-1040 and CT-1040EZ Connecticut Resident Income Tax Return
- CT-1040ES Connecticut Estimated Income Tax Payment
- CT-1040 NR/PY Connecticut Nonresident/Part-Year Resident Income Tax Return
- CT-1065/CT-1120 SI Connecticut Composite Income Tax Return
- CT-1041 Connecticut Income Tax Return for Trusts and Estates
- CT-706/709 Connecticut Estate and Gift Tax Return
- CT-1120 ES Connecticut Corporation Business Tax Estimated Payment (If due April 15)
- CT-990T Connecticut Unrelated Business Income Tax Return (If due April 15)
- OP-424 Business Entity Tax
- OP-186 Connecticut Individual Use Tax
- CT-WH Employer withholding tax payments
- 2006 Household Employer Returns
