Federal Carryover Worksheet May Not Include the Correct 2005 Missouri Income Taxes Paid

Situation

When a 2005 Missouri Individual return contains a carryover of state income taxes paid, the amount carried forward to the 2006 Federal Carryover Worksheet is incorrect. The program is including the total amount paid from the 2005 Missouri Individual return, which includes the estimated tax payment penalty and donations, instead of only the tax due amount.

Workaround

On the Federal Carryover Worksheet, manually enter the correct amount in column (e) of the 2005 State and Local Tax Information table.
