When Microsoft released the Windows Vista operating system earlier this year, we recommended that you wait until after the 2006 tax season to upgrade to this new operating system to avoid potential compatibility issues with our ProSeries 2006 products. After further testing, we have verified that some ProSeries features are not Windows Vista compatible.
If you are considering upgrading to Windows Vista, please be assured that all of our ProSeries 2007 tax software offerings will be Windows Vista compliant.
If you want to use ProSeries 2006 tax software on a computer running Windows Vista, we recommend that you run ProSeries 2006 in Windows Vista administrator mode (also known as user account control) to help reduce the possibility of problems. Even then, some ProSeries features may not function properly.
For information on Windows Vista administrator mode, please see "How to use User Account Control (UAC) in Windows Vista" on the Microsoft Web site.
After making the appropriate modifications for Windows Vista, you should be able to install ProSeries 2006 tax software as you normally would.
