Federal 1120 and 1120S Error Message: "Form 7004 cannot be filed electronically after due date"

Situation

After correcting a rejected extension you get a final review error when attempting to retransmit the extension. When you run final review you get the error message: "Form 7004 cannot be filed electronically after due date" but you are within the five calendar days from the date the rejection was issued by the IRS.

Workaround

1. Run Final Review or Check for Errors and correct all other errors.
2. Disable the conversion error checking when converting and transmitting the return. (In the Electronic Filing Options dialog box, uncheck the Enable conversion error checking box and click OK.)
