Situation

California Schedule CA, line 41 is incorrect when Hurricane Katrina, Wilma, or Rita personal losses are claimed on federal Form 4684, Casualties and Thefts.

Solution

This situation will be corrected in the California Individual update anticipated to be available online on or about March 27, 2007.

Download and install this update when it becomes available. (Go to the Update menu and select Update Installed Products.)

Workaround (prior to update) 

On Schedule CA, double-click line 41 to open the California Miscellaneous Itemized Deductions Statement. Manually adjust the amount on line B of the Huricane Katrina Adjustment Smart Worksheet.
