Federal 1040 Error Reject Code 1122

Situation

You may receive the electronic filing error reject code (ERC) 1122 when Form 1040, line 23 has a zero amount and an "E" indicator for educator expenses.

Solution

This situation is corrected in the Federal 1040 update that became available online on March 5, 2007. Download and install this update, if you have not already done so. (Go to the Update menu and select Update Installed Products.)

Workaround (prior to update)

1. Open Form 1040, on line 23 override the "E" indicator and remove it.
2. Save the return.
3. Run Final Review or Check for Errors. Correct all errors except for the error regarding the override on line 23.
4. Disable conversion error checking when converting/transmitting the return again. (In the Electronic Filing Options dialog box, uncheck the Enable conversion error checking box and click OK.)
