Situation

California Form 100, Corporation Franchise or Income Tax Return, line 1 incorrectly includes the Credit for Small Employer Pension Plan Startup Costs from federal Form 8881.

Workaround

You can manually make the necessary add-back adjustment as described below.

For the Federal Reconciliation Method

On the Form 100 Other Additions and Other Deductions Statement, Other Deductions, line 6, enter the add-back deduction.

For the California Computation Method

On Form 100, page 3, Schedule F, line 27 Other Deductions Expanding Table, enter the add-back deduction.
