Colorado Form 104, Line 2 May Be Incorrect

Situation

Colorado Form 104, Individual Income Tax Return, line 2 incorrectly includes state income taxes paid when sales taxes are deducted and itemized deductions are used in the federal return.

Solution

This situation will be corrected in the Colorado Individual update anticipated to be available online on or about March 5, 2007.

Download and install the update when it becomes available. (Go to the Update menu and select Update Installed Products.)

Workaround (prior to update)

1. Double-click Form 104, line 2 to open the State Income Tax Addback Worksheet
2. Override line A1 to remove the state income taxes that were not deducted on the federal Schedule A.
