Connecticut Form CT-1040, Line 30 or Form CT-1040NR/PY, Line 32 May Be Incorrect

Situation

Connecticut Form CT-1040, Resident Income Tax Return, line 30 or Form CT-1040NR/PY, Nonresident and Part-Year Resident Income Tax Return, line 32, do not calculate correctly when there is an overpayment, if the overpayment is applied to next year's tax, and there is a penalty for underpayment of estimated taxes.

Solution

This situation was corrected in the Connecticut Individual update that became available online on February 17, 2007. Download and install the current update if you have not already done so. (Go to the Update menu and select Update Installed Products.)

Workaround (prior to update) 

On Form CT-1040, line 30 or Form CT-1040NR/PY, line 32 override the incorrect amount with the correct amount.
