ProSeries Frequently Asked Questions

RAL/RT Application and Agreement or Bank Product Information Worksheet May Not Calculate

• ProSeries/1040
• ProSeries Express/1040
• ProSeries Basic/1040

Situation

When a taxpayer qualifies for a Refund Anticipation Loan (RAL) or Refund Transfer (RT), the RAL/RT Application and Agreement or Bank Product Information Worksheet may not calculate.

Solution

This situation will be corrected in a federal 1040 update that we anticipate will be available online on or about January 29, 2007. View anticipated release dates.

Download and install this update when it becomes available. (Go to the Update menu and select Update Installed Products.)

Workaround (prior to update)

Until the update is available, follow these steps if you need to complete a RAL or RT for a client:

1. Open the return that is not calculating.
2. On the Federal Information Worksheet, type test in the Foreign country field.
3. Save the return.
4. On the Federal Information Worksheet, delete test from the Foreign country field.
5. Save the return. This should force the return to calculate.
