Preparing Form 706 for 2007 Using ProSeries Software for 2006

Although Intuit does not advise using the 2006 ProSeries software to prepare Form 706 for 2007, if you need to create estate tax estimates before the release of the 2007 ProSeries software, follow the instructions below.

To complete Form 706, United States Estate (and Generation-Skipping Transfer) Tax Return, for a decedent who died after the current tax year:

1. Open the Form 706 Information Worksheet.
2. Click in the field for Date of Death and press F1 on the keyboard to open the Tax Help. Tax Help lists the items that need to be reviewed in the return.
