Why is the SBBT Preparer RAL/RT Application Preparation Fee limited to $40?

All RAL Processing and Application fees are considered when calculating the interest rates applicable to a bank product loan. These interest rates are documented on the Truth in Lending Disclosure for your clients' review. In an effort to limit the maximum interest rates applicable to these loans, Santa Barbara Bank and Trust (SBBT) limits the preparer processing and application fees to a maximum of $40.

Although Preparer RAL Processing and Application Fees are limited to a maximum of $40, some preparers may wish to charge additional tax preparation fees when offering bank products to their clients. These additional fees may be included on the Bank Product Information Worksheet or RAL/RT Worksheet as Preparer Tax Preparation Fees or Preparer Electronic Filing Fees.
