How do I print extension forms in ProSeries Basic Edition?

• ProSeries Basic Edition

To print a federal extension form:

1. Open the return.
2. Complete as much of the return as possible and save the return.
3. Click the General Information tab on the left.
4. On the Checklist tab, scroll down to the Extensions section.
5. Check the box for Application for Automatic Extension (Form 4868) .
6. Click the Extension tab across the top.
7. Check the box to freeze the amounts on the form, complete line 7, and save the return.
8. With the extension form open, click the Print tool bar icon.

To print a state extension form:

1. Open the federal return.
2. Complete as much of the federal return as possible and save the return.
3. Click the State button on the left.
4. Click the tab for the state that needs the extension. If necessary, click the Choose State tab to add the state.
5. On the Checklist tab, select the appropriate state extension form.  
6. Click the state extension form tab across the top.
7. If this is the first extension, check the box to freeze the amounts on the form, complete any required information, and save the return.
8. With the extension form open, click the Print tool bar icon.

Note: ProSeries Basic Edition does not offer a batch printing feature.
