Can I electronically file state extensions?

ProSeries Express Edition States
ProSeries Basic Edition States

Individual State Extensions

You can use ProSeries software to electronically file Massachusetts (Form M-4868) and New York (Form IT-370) individual extensions.

You cannot use ProSeries software to electronically file individual state extensions for other states.

Business State Extensions

You can use ProSeries software to electronically file the following business state extensions:

Maryland Corporation (Form 500E)
Maryland Pass-Through S Corporation (Form 510E)
Maryland Pass-Through Partnership (Form 510E)
Massachusetts Corporation (Form 355-7004)
Massachusetts S Corporation (Form 355-7004)
Massachusetts Partnership (Form M-8736)
Massachusetts Fiduciary (Form M-8736)
New York Corporation (Form CT-5)
New York S Corporation (Form CT-5.4)

You cannot use ProSeries software to electronically file business state extensions for other states.

State filing deadlines can vary by state. For more information, please visit the appropriate State Tax Department (Department of Revenue) Web site.

Note: Federal Individual (Form 4868), Corporation (Form 7004), S Corporation (Form 7004), and Partnership (Form 7004) extensions can be electronically filed using ProSeries software.
