Important note about business e-file: E-file for partnership, corporate and S corporate returns will continue until 6:00 p.m. (Pacific Time) on October 24, 2007 and then resume again on November 13, 2007 when the Intuit Electronic Filing Center comes back online.

Important note about state returns: If your federal return has a state return attached (or you are filing a "State-Only" return) and it is rejected, you should correct and retransmit by October 17, 2007 to ensure that the state has time to return an acknowledgment before the IRS system closes state acknowledgment processing on October 22, 2007.

The Intuit Electronic Filing Center will continue to process retransmitted Fed/State and State-Only returns through 6 a.m. (Pacific Time) on October 20, 2007. However, Fed/State and State Only returns retransmitted after October 17, 2007 may not get acknowledged by the state in time to process and send acknowledgments back through the IRS.

For any state acknowledgments not received at the Intuit Electronic Filing Center by October 25, 2007, please contact the appropriate state taxing authority directly.

To ensure returns are considered timely filed for the October 15th deadline:

This information may also be found in IRS Publications 1345 and 1345A. Most states comply with the federal specifications set forth by the IRS. For more information regarding a specific state's e-file rules and regulations, please access the state taxing authority web sites.
