HomeBase can be customized to display a variety of information from a client's return.

To create a customized view or tab in HomeBase, start with an existing view or tab, make changes, and then save the view or tab with a new name.

Note: You cannot save a custom view or tab from the EF Center view, the Bank Products view, the EF Clients tab, and the Bank Products Clients tab.

To Create a Customized HomeBase View or Tab

  1. Select a view or tab to use as the basis of your new view or tab.
  2. From the HomeBase menu, select Column Headings to open the Columns dialog box.
    • Add - To add a column, select the name of the column in the Available Columns list and click the Add>> button. Note: The new column is added to the bottom of the Selected Columns list.
    • Remove - To remove a column, select the column name in the Selected Columns list and click the <<Remove button. This is useful for removing unnecessary columns from a customized view or tab.
    • Change Order - To change the order of the columns, select a column in the Selected Columns list and click the Move Up and Move Down buttons to change the order.
    • Change Column Width - To change the width of a column, select a column in the Selected Columns list, click the Properties button, enter a new value for Column Width, and click OK.
    • Lock a Column - To lock a column in place so it doesn't move, select a column in the Selected Columns list, click the Properties button, check the box for Locked, and click OK. Note: This will also lock all the columns before the selected column.
  3. To save the view or tab, go to the HomeBase menu, select Save View As or Save Tab As, enter a name for the new view or tab, and click OK.
  4. If you forget to save your view or tab, the Save View Settings dialog box will appear when you switch to a different view or tab. Select Save and rename these changes in a new view and click OK to save the view or tab.

You can now select the new view or tab in HomeBase and review and sort the information.

To Delete a Customized  HomeBase View or Tab

  1. Select a HomeBase view or tab you do not want to delete. You cannot delete a view or tab if it is selected.
  2. From the HomeBase menu, select Delete View or Delete Tab.
  3. In the Delete Views dialog box, select the customized view you want to delete, click Delete, and then Yes.
