On January 18, 2007, the IRS sent out the following QuickAlert: Individual E-file Update
"ATTN: Software Developers, Return Transmitters and Authorized IRS e-file Providers/EROs.
E-file updates
Error Reject Code 0295 will be disabled due the erroneous rejects it is causing. The effective date for this change is January 19, 2007.
E-file programming will be corrected to include the new valid Individual Taxpayer Identification Number Range of 900-70-0000 through 999-88-9999 that was previously published in Publication 1346. This updated change will be effective February 03, 2007.
Form 1040EZ-T cannot be filed with a state return. However, you can file Forms 1040, 1040A, and 1040EZ to claim the telephone excise tax refund only and a state return can be attached to these returns. Follow the normal processing procedures for these returns by entering the required data such as filing status (even though it is not required on Form 1040EZ-T), standard deduction and other required data.
