On July 10, 2007, the IRS sent out the following QuickAlert: Form 8453 Submissions

"ATTN: Authorized IRS e-file Providers/EROs Form 8453 Submissions

Electronic Return Originators must mail Forms 8453, U.S. Individual Income Tax Declaration for an IRS e-file Return, to the Internal Revenue Service for all returns accepted without a PIN. Completed Forms 8453 must be mailed within three business days after receiving acknowledgement of return acceptance. An electronically transmitted return will NOT be considered complete until a Form 8453 signed by the taxpayer is received by the IRS.

If you have not mailed Forms 8453, please do so immediately. Failure to comply can result in your suspension from IRS e-file.

DO NOT mail Form 8453 to the IRS if a PIN signature method was accepted. Please remind your clients to keep their copy of Form 8453 for their records.

Thank you for your cooperation.
