Can I purchase pay-per-return authorizations when telephone support is closed?

There are several methods you can use to increase your pay-per-return (PPR)
balance. These methods are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
Automated Customer Support Telephone System
To increase your PPR balance using the automated customer support telephone
system:
- Launch your ProSeries tax software.
- Go to the Tools menu and select Pay Per Return.
- In the Pay Per Return dialog box, select Increase
account balance.
- In the Increase Account Balance dialog box, select
Manual if it is not already selected and click OK.
- A six-digit PPR code and your customer number will display
in the dialog box. You will need to provide this PPR code and your customer
number to the automated system. Do NOT close this Increase Account
Balance dialog box as you will need to come back to this dialog box
to enter the authorization code you will receive over the phone.
- Call Automated Customer Support at 1-800-723-0692, press
3 to increase your PPR account, and follow the voice instructions to process
your order and generate an authorization code. Be sure to write down your
authorization code.
- In the Increase Account Balance dialog box, enter
the authorization code you received over the phone and click OK.
You can now close the Increase Account Balance dialog box.
Online (Internet Connection Required)
There are two methods you can use online.
In your ProSeries tax software:
- Go to the Tools menu and select Pay Per Return.
- In the Pay Per Return dialog box, select Increase
account balance.
- In the Increase Account Balance dialog box, select
Online if it is not already selected and click OK.
- In the Credit Card Information dialog box, enter
your credit card information and amount, then click OK.
- When asked the question Is this the correct charge amount?
verify the amount shown, then click Yes if correct, or No
to edit the amount.
- ProSeries will connect to the Internet and update your
account automatically.
On the ProSeries Web site:
- Launch your ProSeries tax software.
- Go to the Tools menu and select Pay Per Return.
- In the Pay Per Return dialog box, select Increase
account balance.
- In the Increase Account Balance dialog box, select
Manual if it is not already selected and click OK.
- A six-digit PPR code and your customer number will display
in the dialog box. You will need to enter this PPR code on the Web site
when placing your order to add PPR funds. Do NOT close this Increase
Account Balance dialog box as you will need to come back to this dialog
box to enter the authorization code you will receive on the Web site.
- Login to My
ProSeries.
- Select Increase My PPR Balance.
- Enter the six-digit PPR code and a dollar amount, then
click the Add to Cart button. Follow the on-screen instructions to
process your order and generate an authorization code. Be sure to write
down your authorization code.
- In the Increase Account Balance dialog box, enter
the authorization code you received from the Web site and click OK.
You can now close the Increase Account Balance dialog box.
